Volunteer & Foster With R3 Feral Cat Rescue Inc.

At R3 Feral Cat Rescue Inc., everything we do is powered by people who care. We are a 100% foster-based and volunteer-run nonprofit rescue, meaning there is no physical shelter and no paid staff — every life saved is made possible by individuals who generously give their time, skills, and homes.

Our mission is rooted in compassion, responsibility, and community. Every cat we help — whether feral, abandoned, injured, or simply in need of a second chance — relies entirely on our volunteers and foster families for daily care, socialization, transport, trap-neuter-return (TNR) support, medical recovery, and safe temporary housing while awaiting adoption.

Because we are fully volunteer-operated, fostering and volunteering are not just helpful — they are essential. Each approved foster home directly saves lives by allowing us to take in cats who would otherwise have nowhere to go.

To protect the safety and well-being of our animals, volunteers, foster families, and the public, R3 Feral Cat Rescue Inc. operates in compliance with all applicable federal nonprofit regulations, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania animal welfare standards, Mercer County requirements, and City of Hermitage ordinances. Participation requires agreement to R3 policies regarding humane care, safety protocols, liability waivers, confidentiality, and ethical rescue practices.

All applicants must complete this application fully and honestly. Submission does not guarantee placement. R3 reserves the right to verify references, conduct background checks where permitted by law, perform home or virtual inspections for foster applicants, and deny or revoke participation when necessary to protect the best interests of the animals or the organization.
